Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez, a Mexican-American actor and singer is extremely popular. As a child Sara was targeted for racial discrimination by American citizens of all races. She began to gain confidence in the ninth grade when she appeared in an audition and was highly praised for her singing. The event not only helped the confidence of her, but also altered her outlook on the future. The 22-year-old earned a degree from Julliard School in New York. When she was 23, her first Broadway show with Paul Simon's The Capeman, and her debut in the film You've got Mail were both major breaks. The most notable accomplishment of her career occurred in the role of The Lady of The Lake in Spamalot's initial Broadway production. Not only did she receive the Tony Award, but her performance was also praised by the critics. Following that, she was cast as Dr. Callie Torres in ABC's Grey's Anatomy. This led to her gaining wider fame. A well-known performer, she has also recorded songs and plays. She is an activist who is a tireless advocate for LGBT equality.
