Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford was born in the United States. She is an actress as well as a singer and dancer. Some of her early Broadway productions included Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. In her performance as Essie In You Can't Take It With You she was awarded the Tony Award. Annaleigh Ashford, Tony Award winner actor has worked with many acclaimed actors and directors in stage films and television. She continues this award-winning career by working on new projects. Ashford's next venture will be a limited-edition Hulu series titled Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show debuts on November 22 and Ashford stars opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford is currently filming for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust starring opposite Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. It will also be available in the form of an Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford will be seen as Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for the upcoming March 2023 revival of Stephen Sondheims Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will lead the production. Ashford played Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, which is based on the scandal which was involving Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the national security crisis. She was the star of two seasons on CBS comedy B Positive. It was produced by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. It featured Linda lavin, Hector Elizondo, and Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. Her portrayal of Essie on You Can't Take It with You was a winner of the Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Additional Broadway credits are Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the originating role of Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots a performance for which she received another Tony Award nomination. Ashford is an Denver origins native, and now splits his time in Los Angeles.
